Pigment Clearing Laser/ Rejuvenation

Does your skin reflect all of the time you have spent in the sun? Are you concern about unwanted dark spots such as freckles, birthmarks or other pigmented lesions. At Shiraz Cosmetic and medical Clinic we are proud to provide treatments for these types of problems with the use of the Harmony XR Pro DYE-VL Technology. The DYE-VL Pro effectively treats Sun damaged skin, Age spot, Brown spots and any dark spot on your skin. The Pulsed Dye Laser is a device that produces a bright light that is absorbed by pigments in the skin, break them down to small particles. After few days they shed off your skin.

HOW DOES HYPER PIGMENTATION OCCUR?

Sun spots, freckles, age spots, and hyper pigmentation occur when melanin, the pigment that gives skin its colour, collects in one area. The distribution of melanin loses effectiveness as we age, leading to the risk for more age and sun spots. Melasma is a unique skin problem that results in dark, wide patches of facial discoloration. All of these skin conditions have a wide variety of causes, ranging from sun exposure, hormones, genetics, and age to inflammation or injuries. Luckily, one system can reverse them all.

1- The Harmony XL Pro DyeSR

Laser specifically targets melanin collection spots under the surface with a narrow band spectrum of light energy. This incredibly narrow wave band is uniform and consistent with specialised light pulses for unparalleled accuracy. Plus, the narrow band eliminates the wavelengths that have adverse effects on skin, so it’s completely safe for all skin types and it works on sensitive skin areas, including the body, face, and neck. With a hand-piece instrument, the laser technician has total control over the treatment outcome with additional specialised treatment options to optimise results.

How does the pigment clearing laser work?

Pigment clearing light-based, laser and IPL treatments remove the appearance of spots and skin hyperpigmentation by targeting the melanin in the darkened area and dispersing it. The tiny fragments of the pigment are then cleared by the lymphatic system through a natural process. This results in the clearing of all of the pigmentation layers which in turn reveals even-toned, unblemished skin.

What does the treatment involve?

Prior to any laser treatment a consultation will need to be carried out to ensure suitability of treatment. On the day of treatment no numbing or anaesthetic is required so your laser specialist will apply a cooling gel on the area. The laser will then be moved over the skin targeting all areas.
This powerful and effective laser takes just 30 minutes, and does not either require anaesthetic or, unlike traditional ablative laser resurfacing, burn the skin’s outer layer. As a result, redness and downtime are minimised

How many treatments do I need?

We usually require between 3 – 6 treatments at 4 weekly intervals. However results vary from person to person and number of treatments required will depend on your own individual skin needs

What should I expect after treatment?

Dark spots and hyper pigmentation will get darker initially for up to 7 days and then they will lighten up or vanish altogether.
